A few weeks ago, I shared how we cleaned our old, dingy cedar shingles. After a good scrubbing, they were in much better shape than I anticipated so we decided to seal them to keep them in good shape for years to come.
We chose a lovely red stain to accentuate the natural red cedar hue.
The brave hubby worked on the eaves for me so I didn’t have to get into a ladder.
All it took was a gallon of stain, a paint brush, and some man power. The cedar absorbed a lot of the stain, for covering such a small area we went through almost half the gallon and we’ll likely put a clear coat on it in the fall.
A better view of the before and after color.
